Training for social care professionals

We offer training and development for adult social care professionals and partners on the following subjects.

Our Care Act e-learning programme will help you understand the basic principles, objectives and key concepts of the new legislation as well as introducing you to the policies, regulations, guidance and our responsibilities as a local authority. You don't need a login to take part in this programme.

More resources to keep you informed about the impact of the Care Act are available on our Care Act pages.

We offer the following levels of safeguarding adults training:

  • Level A (Foundation) training is provided principally for KCC and private, voluntary and independent staff (PVI).
  • The Kent and Medway Safeguarding Adults Board commissions multi-agency training for staff from statutory partner agencies who have responsibility for undertaking, contributing to and managing formal safeguarding enquiries (under Section 42 of the Care Act), as well as decision making to support protective outcomes during and after safeguarding enquiries.
  • This training is currently being recommissioned  -  we will be launching the new training programme in early summer 2017.

For further information regarding multi-agency safeguarding adults training, please contact christine.white@kent.gov.uk.

A charge may be made for non-attendance or late cancellation (less than six weeks’ notice).
