Snow clearance tender

The next tender opens in April 2012

Farmers and small contractors play a vital part in the County’s winter maintenance programme as was demonstrated in last year’s harshest winter for many years and their contribution makes a great difference in keeping our rural areas in particular clear of ice and snow.

New contract

Last year we establised a new contract for the clearance of snow from the county highways.

The contracts will run for three years with the hourly rates for snow clearing being agreed annually with the National Farmers Union.

Updates to the rates will be advised in writing to those farmers and also published on the Kent County Council website.
