Sittingbourne Northern R
elief Road
Sittingbourne Northern Relief Road is 1.4 km of new single
carriageway road in the north east of Sittingbourne, with bridges
over Milton Creek and the Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light
Railway.
The new road connects two sections of the relief road built by
developers between Grovehurst interchange on the A249 and Ridham
Avenue; and between Castle Road and the East Hall Farm residential
development.
It will help to reduce traffic within the town centre and
support future regeneration plans. It will provide better and
more reliable access to the Eurolink Business Estate and East Hall
Farm residential development with a direct connection to the
A249. It will support existing businesses and encourage
further investment into the area.
It is hoped that in the future the Relief Road will be extended
eastwards to connect to the A2 at Bapchild.

& Communities Agency and East Hall Farm development
contributions.
