Current schemes
In general, all major schemes require government funding. Bids
for schemes need to compete nationally for very limited
resources.
We have a set of criteria that is used to award the contracts
for our schemes. Value for money is important, and we often seek a
balance between quality and price.
Lowest price is not always the reason for the decision. Safety
and good relations with the local community are very important. We
work together with contractors and designers so everyone
benefits.
This scheme is under construction:
- East
Kent Access Phase 2 - a new road to improve the A229
between Minster roundabout and the Lord of the Manor junction. Also
to improve the A256 between Lord of the Manor junction and
connecting with phase 1 of this scheme at the old Richborough power
station site
