Surveys of recent residential developments

We started satisfaction surveys among the residents of recent residential developments in August 2007.

These ‘Placemaking Surveys’ are intended to help partners in the Kent Design Initiative to understand whether national and local design policies and guidance are helping to deliver good design and good places to live.

• A definitive list of sites surveyed and survey returns (PDF, 215k) - an index to all the surveys completed and in progress
• Quality Ratings (PDF, 346k) - These relate to housing aims contained in the Vision for Kent, and offer an insight into how people rate their new street and/or neighbourhood.
• Ratings for 'Safety and Servicing' (PDF, 176k) - These ratings show whether the streets are considered to be safe, and whether the servicing of properties is constrained in any way.
• 'Weighted Ratings' from the most recent surveys (PDF, 44k) - This information, limited to the most recent surveys only, takes account of the strength of feeling expressed in the Quality Ratings. It gives a more detailed insight into what it is like to live in each location.
