School and college services
There are several different types of school services, some of
which are also available to the general public.
Some bus services only run on school
days
Whilst these services are primarily intended to
carry pupils to and from school or college, they are also
available to the general public.
These services are identified on the bus operator's
timetables (usually by the symbol 'Sch') and can be viewed on the
bus services
section (in the frequency column).
Some buses serve different routes on
schooldays
This is also indicated on the timetables.
If in doubt, check route information on Traveline.
Other services only serve specific schools or
colleges
These services may have restrictions on who may travel on them, and
routes or times can change to suit students' needs.
Schools may be aware of other services available, particularly
for pupils that are not entitled to free or subsidised school
transport.
Home to school transport
Your child may be eligible for free transport to school.
For further details, please visit our getting to school
section, or contact Admissions and Transport on 01622 696565 or
by emailing kent.admissions@kent.gov.uk.
If your child is in years 7-11 in a Kent school, they may
be eligible for the Kent Freedom Pass. The scheme provides access to
the Kent bus network for an annual fee.
Further information about how to get to school or college is
available on the 11-19 Travel website.
