Disabled parking
There are two schemes
for disabled drivers:
- Blue Badge/disabled person's permit
- Disabled person's parking bay.
Blue Badge/disabled person's permit
The Blue Badge scheme allows disabled and blind people to park
closer to shops and amenities. This means the permit holder can
drive, or be driven, to areas within towns and cities where parking
is restricted.
Disabled parking bays
If you are disabled, and have problems parking close enough to
your home, you can apply for a disabled person's parking bay.
You need to have a valid Blue Badge (disabled person's parking
permit) to apply.
There is a cost of £30 for the application. This is a
non-refundable fee for processing the application; you will not get
this back, even if we turn down your request.
Is the disabled person's parking bay just for the person whose
house it is outside?
No. The bay can be used by any Blue Badge holder.
