Who is eligible for a bus pass?
Older Person's Bus Pass
You can get an Older Person's Bus Pass if:
- you are a Kent resident
- you reach the female state pension age, which
is no longer 60.
Use the
pension age calculator to
check when you qualify. Make sure you tick the female
box, even if you're male.
Disabled Person's Bus Pass
You can get a Disabled Person’s Bus Pass if
1) You are a Kent resident
2) And fit into one of the Department for Transport's categories
below:
- Are blind or partially sighted
- Are profoundly or severely deaf
- Are without speech
- Have a disability or have suffered an injury which has a
substantial and long-term adverse effect on your ability to
walk
- Have no arms or can't use both your arms
- Have a learning disability
- Would be refused a driving licence under section 92 of the Road
Traffic Act 1988 (physical fitness).

Disabled Person+Companion Bus Pass
You can apply for a Disabled Person+Companion Bus Pass if:
1) You are a Kent Resident
2) You fit one of the categories in the
Disabled Person's Bus Pass section above
3) You can provide evidence that you are unable to travel
alone.
This pass allows you and a companion to travel free on bus
journeys starting in Kent or Medway. Your companion cannot travel
without you.
