Everyone matters – from every corner of Kent

9 March 2010

The 2010 edition of the Kent Care Directory is now available.

This year’s directory carries detailed information about community care and residential services from right across Kent – as well as a comprehensive guide to self directed support.

Essential information includes:

  • Assessment and eligibility

  • Advice about choosing care services

  • Services to support people who care for others

  • Options to help people live independently

  • Home adaptation and equipment

  • Telecare and assistive technology

  • Enablement

  • Personal budgets

  • Direct Payments

  • The inspection and registration of care homes

  • Comments, compliments and complaints

  • Patient advice and liaison services

  • Contact details for district councils and primary care trusts

  • Useful contacts.

KCC Cabinet member for Kent Adult Social Services, Graham Gibbens, said: “Getting the right care services from the right place can make a big difference and give people more control of their own lives. Keeping that independence or having that confidence in those providing care and support is particularly important. This directory can help people to make the right choices.”
