Deadline for primary school applications fast approaching

If you have a child starting school in September 2013 you don’t have much time left to apply for their school place. Kent County Council is reminding parents the deadline is 16 January.

Parents can apply at www.kent.gov.uk/ola. Anyone without internet access can still pick up a paper form from their nearest primary school or get one by calling 0300 333 6472.

Mike Whiting, Cabinet Member for Education, Learning and Skills said:

“Applying for a school place can be worrying for parents so we try and make it as stress-free as possible. If you do have internet access, applying online is the most convenient way.”

For those who apply online and are allocated their first preference, confirmation will be by email only. For all others, letters will be sent out on Friday 5 April 2013 advising families which school they have been offered. Those receiving an email will receive it after 4pm on the same day.
