Consultation open for minerals and waste local plan

We'd like your views on the best sites for minerals and waste management up to 2030.

Kent County Council is preparing a suite of new documents for the Minerals and Waste Local Plan. This Mineral Sites Plan and the Waste Sites Plan consultation at preferred options’ stage is the second time we have asked for your views as part of the process of preparing these plans. The responses from the 2011 consultations have helped the site assessment and selection process. Both documents identify the best and most sustainable sites now needed by Kent for minerals and waste management up to the end of 2030.

There are 25 preferred option sites for mineral supply, and 21 preferred option sites for waste management.

We would like to know your views on these preferred options. The responses we receive from this round of consultations will help us prepare the final plans.

A series of drop-in sessions is being arranged at various community venues around the county during June.  Each session will give you an opportunity to discuss the consultation with planning officers from Kent County Council.
