Adam Wilkinson, Managing Director of Environment and
Regeneration is leaving Kent County Council after one year in
post.
Adam said: "I have held this post for exactly a year and it has
been an enormously stimulating and exciting period in my career.
However it has not been possible for me to relocate my family to
Kent. I have found that the combination of living apart from my
four daughters during the week and travelling the six and a half
hours home at weekends, placed alongside giving my full attention
to what is a demanding role is not sustainable. I have decided,
therefore, that my family must come first."
Peter Gilroy, Chief Executive of Kent County Council said:
"Adam has overseen a number of key services for Kent residents
including Highways, Transportation, Planning, Waste, the
Environment and KCC's Regeneration Strategy. He has also had the
task of working with partners to develop services designed to
maximise the potential for individuals and communities and underpin
the Kent economy. Adam has made an immediate impact, setting up
change groups and consulting on a new structure for his
Directorate. We are very sorry that Adam is leaving so soon after
he joined us, but respect his decision that it was not sustainable
for him to be apart from his young
family." |
