How you can help

Group of adults with booksEveryone can play a role, whether it is taking a child to a library for the first time, being a volunteer reader in a school, or accompanying a nervous friend to a Skills Plus Centre where they can gain a basic literacy qualification.

Just talking about the pleasure of reading can inspire others. 2 out of 5 adults are encouraged to read a book after receiving tips from friends (Office of National Statistics) and 43% of young people will read something as a result of a peer recommendation (Nestle Family Monitor).

There are plenty of ways to get involved.
