Internet use and safety
Each of
our libraries has computers for young people to use.
You can use the computers:
- for study
- to research school or personal projects
- for revision
- just for fun
It's a good idea to book computers in advance as they can get
very busy. You can book a computer online, or
by visiting or phoning
your library.
If you are under 16 and want to use the Internet, a parent or
carer will need to sign a form to say that they agree to this. Just
ask at your local library and we will post a permission form home
to them.
Do you know how to stay safe when you're online? Whether you're
surfing at home, at school or out and about with your mobile, it's
important to put your internet safety first!
Help keep yourself safe on the Internet by checking out our
SMART (PDF, 281k) rules. There is also lots of useful advice for
young people of all ages at Think U Know.

dangers of the internet.
