The Complete Business
Reference Adviser (COBRA) is an encyclopedia of practical
information for anyone involved in setting up, running and managing
a business enterprise, including business start up guides,
management factsheets and UK market sector reports.
Please
note: Remote access is restricted to 12 Business
Information Briefings, 12 Business Opportunities Profiles,
and 6 UK Market Synopsis a year.
Kent library card
holders are permitted to download/print documents for their own
personal use, to help research, start up or run a business. No part
of the product can be transmitted, promoted, referred to or linked
to by any other means, including by e-mail or Internet, without the
prior written permission of the supplier.
British Standards Online

Grants access to the
full-text of most British Standards and some European and
International equivalents.
Experian e-business
series
(main district libraries, no remote access)
Contact, financial, credit and ownership details for all
registered UK companies. Limited information on a large number of
non-incorporated businesses.
Keynote
(Kent History and Library Centre only)
Provides access to a
wide range of Keynote market research reports and profiles.
Gives access to a
database of worldwide industrial and commercial companies. It can
be searched by company name, product/service, trade name, executive
name or a combination of criteria using the advanced search
facility.

registering British companies. Enter a company name in Webcheck and
get details of its registered address, number, date of
incorporation, date of last filed accounts etc.
Federation of Small
Businesses
Information on issues
affecting small businesses plus contact details for regional
offices. The "Document Library" provides an extensive list of
policy documents for free download.
Planning
portal
Apply for or check planning applications, and read/
download full text of the current and previous versions of the
building regulations 'Approved documents'.

Easy to use currency converter.
BT Phonebook
Search BT phone directories for the whole of the UK and locate a
business by type.
Thomson Local
UK local business directory that displays classified
business listings for local UK suppliers including telephone
numbers, ratings and reviews, web and email addresses.
Yellow
Pages
The Yellow Pages
official site. Search for businesses, services, shops etc. by
locations.
