Bookstart
Bookstart
is a national programme that encourages all parents and carers to
enjoy books with their children from as early an age as
possible.
Local libraries work in
partnership with registrars, health visitors, pre-school settings
and children's centres to deliver free packs of books at two
key ages:
- Children 0-12
months receive a Bookstart baby pack
- Children 36-48 months
receive My Bookstart Treasure Chest
Other packs available:
- Booktouch - for registered blind children
- Bookshine - for deaf children
- Dual language packs - available in a range of languages
All packs contain books and a range of
other lovely resources for children and their parents.
For further information
on how to receive your pack in Kent, ask at your local library or
email bookstart@kent.gov.uk.
