Unlock Kent’s Glittering PastUnlocking Kent's Past 2013

Enjoy our exciting Spring 2013 programme of talks (PDF, 68 k) on our great county's heritage.

Be inspired by our expert speakers talking about their research. Learn how they use in the writing of history – the documents and sources, many from Kent’s wonderful archives held at the Kent History and Library Centre.  Witness them at work, uncovering evidence, interpreting it and in their company, discover historical treasures held there. And see some of them for yourself, laid out on display during the talk.

When did the Middle Ages end? How did you pay for things in the seventeenth century? How did ordinary folk write before the dawn of modern schooling? These questions and many more posed and answered.

Join us on Thursday evenings at the Kent History and Library Centre, James Whatman Way, Maidstone. Admission charge: £3

Please contact us on 0300 333 6022 or email historyandlibrarycentre@kent.gov.uk to book and for further details.
