The Historic Environment Record is
available for public and commercial use. It is an extensive
collection of information relating to Kent's heritage.
This database contains information about 24,000 archaeological
sites and discoveries along with details of nearly 18,000 listed
buildings.
It also includes information on historic landscapes, excavations
and library sources; we hold more than 5,000 archaeological reports
and have a collection of aerial photographs covering much of the
county from 1946 onwards.
To view the aerial photographs and archaeological reports held
at County Hall in Maidstone, please make an appointment to visit.
Please book at least two days in advance as space is limited.
To make an enquiry or to arrange a visit to the HER offices,
call the Historic Environment Record Officer on 01622 221541 or
email heritageconservation@kent.gov.uk.
