Explore Kent's past
Kent County Council maintains a range of publicly accessible
information resources on the county's heritage, in particular, the
Historic Environment Record for Kent.
The Historic Environment Record contains information about
20,000 archaeological discoveries and 17,000 listed buildings. We
also maintain a collection of more than 4,000 archaeological
reports and many photographs and maps.
Following our successful 'Exploring Kent's Past' project,
supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Kent Historic
Environment Record database is now available online. Our
outreach programme is helping people throughout Kent enjoy learning
about the past.
