Guided walks

Guided walks are a great way to explore the countryside in the company of new friends and an expert guide. Ranging from novice leisurely walks to rambling and hiking, guided walks can offer new experiences to all.

Guiding walkers with a mapThere are many reasons why a guided walk is great fun. Having a guide can be helpful to those who are not confident map-reading or being out on their own in the countryside.

For those who wish to learn more about the wildlife or history where they are walking, who better to walk with than a knowledgeable local guide.

Experiencing the countryside in the company of others can bring new perspectives and stories even to familiar routes.

A guided walks search is now available on the Explore Kent website to help find guided walks to suit you. You are able to search by postcode, area, interest or theme, date, distance and grading.

A simple, one click, free booking system reserves your place. You can also track the number of guided walks you've booked and see the total miles walked. All the details about where to go, who will be leading the walk and what to take is available, as well as useful maps to find where the walk starts.

This central resource is the first of its kind within the UK and guided walk leaders will be able to upload their guided walks free of charge, which will then be seen by all visitors to the Explore Kent website.
