Shorne Woods Heritage Trail - Audio Stop Points
On this
webpage you will find downloadable audio files that explain more
about the archaeology and history of Shorne Woods Country Park.
Each file is in .mp3 format and can be played on your ipod or
equivalent mp3 player. This is not an audiotrail, so you will need
to combine your walk with the
Shorne Woods visitor map (PDF, 943k).
On the Shorne Woods visitor map you will see seven
heritage points, marked by shields with numbers in them. The first
six of these are also audio stop points. Follow the Heritage Trail
from the visitor centre and stop at each heritage point (marked by
an interpretation board with further information and images), to
hear more about the archaeology and history of the park. The audio
files can be downloaded either individually or as a group
below:
Alternatively, download all six audio points
If you have trouble downloading the files, please contact the
visitor centre on 01474 823800.
Some of the key finds from the excavations can be seen
upstairs in the visitor centre, along with a touchscreen display
and timeline. Visit the
Heritage
Conservation pages for further information on the Shorne Woods
Archaeology Project.
If you would like to leave feedback about the audio stop
points, please fill in a comments card at the visitor centre.
