A wonderful area of discovery, West Kent provides a variety of
experiences, so there is sure to be something for everyone.
Exploring the area is a truly memorable experience which can easily
offer a whole weekends' worth of sightseeing, let alone just a

Walking
There are lots of walks to choose from in West Kent. From easy
accessible circular routes, such as the
Hadlow trail to the longer distance walks like the Medway Valley Path and
North Downs
Way.
Cycling
There is
a great 5 mile cycling route running from Tonbridge
Castle to Penshurst Place which is ideal for the whole family.
Take a walk with the audio trail or walking guide around Tonbridge
itself and follow in Jane Austens
footsteps.
Horse riding
Dry Hill in West Kent
offers some great horse riding opportunities, through the High
Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The routes comprise of
four loops with 9 access links, providing rides of up to 15.5
miles (24.9km).
Parks and open spaces
There are some great parks in West Kent to explore, many of them
steeped in local history. Visitors can encounter the deer in the
parkland surrounding Knole stately home in Sevenoaks, or enjoy the
grandeur of the elegant Dunorlan Park just outside Tunbridge Wells.
Places of interest
From beautiful gardens to historic castles, there is so much to
see and do. Tonbridge Castle, set in landscaped gardens, overlooks
the River Medway and is easily
accessible by public transport. Among other visitor attractions in
the area, Scotney Castle, Groombridge Place Gardens and Bewl Water are
definitely worth a visit.
