Kalos [beauty]
In 2010 the Sevenoaks
Kaleidoscope Gallery hosts a series of exhibitions reflecting on
the venue’s name – Kalos (Beauty), Eidos
(Form) and Scopos (The Watcher).
Kalos was the first in this series of exhibitions,
exploring the place of ‘beauty’ in contemporary art. Artists from
across Kent were invited to submit works that address beauty,
that aspire to be beautiful, comment on the pursuit of beauty, or
consider the notion of beauty.
Take a look at the Kalos Photo
Gallery.
Exhibiting artists: Alexander MacKenzie, Anette
Bjorholm, Anthony Heywood, Bradley Starkey, Dawn Badland, Emma
Harding, Gemma Fairhead, Katy Norton, Lyndsay Connors, Marinda
Hudson, Niki Campbell and Nikitas Almpanis.
The exhibition was free to visitors and ran
from 16 April – 3 June 2010.
The gallery sits alongside the library and museum within the
Sevenoaks Kaleidoscope building. The Sevenoaks Kaleidoscope Gallery
is run by Kent County Council to show new work from established and
emerging Kent artists.
