Eidos [form]

Copyright Theresa Paton

Eidos was the second in the series of exhibitions hosted by the Sevenoaks Kaleidoscope Gallery in 2010 that reflect on the venue’s name – Kalos (Beauty), Eidos (Form) and Scopos (The Watcher).

Artists from across Kent were invited to submit works that explored the place of ‘form’ in contemporary art and experimented with the formal qualities of structure and material irrespective of subject or narrative.

Exhibiting artists were: Jon Adams, Ros Barker, Steven Foy, Lynsey Harrison, Marinda Hudson, Nick Hughes, Nicole Mollett, Theresa Paton, Hildegard Pax, Bradley Starkey and Shelley Rose.

The free exhibition ran from 22 July  – 1 September with the opening reception held on 22 July 2010.

The gallery sits alongside the library and museum within the Sevenoaks Kaleidoscope building. The Sevenoaks Kaleidoscope Gallery is run by Kent County Council to show new work from established and emerging Kent artists.
