Museums in Kent

There are two types of museum in Kent: 50 or so are registered or accredited museums and several are non-registered or non-accredited museums.

The Museum Accreditation Scheme (this link opens in a new window) sets nationally agreed standards for museums, and museum-managed art galleries in the United Kingdom. To qualify, museums must meet clear basic requirements on how they care for and document their collections, how they are governed and managed, and on the information and services they offer to their users.
