COBRA - The Complete Business Reference
Adviser (COBRA) is an encyclopaedia of practical information
for anyone involved in setting up, running and managing a
business enterprise, including business start up guides,
management factsheets and UK market sector reports.
Please note: As part of our contract with COBRA's
publishers, each Kent Libraries & Archives ticket holder can
remotely read and/or copy up to 12 Business Information Briefings
(BIFs), 12 Business Opportunities Profiles (BOPs), and six UK
Market Synopsis a year.
British Standards Online (all libraries) -
grants access to the full-text of most British Standards and some
European and International equivalents.
Experian e-business series (Ashford,
Canterbury, County Central, Dartford, Dover, Folkestone, Gravesend,
Maidstone, Margate, Sevenoaks, Sittingbourne, Tonbridge or
Tunbridge Wells libraries) - Contact, financial, credit and
ownership details for all registered UK companies. Limited
information on a large number of non-incorporated businesses.
Keynote (County Central Library only) -
provides access to a wide range of Keynote market research reports
and profiles.
Kompass Global - gives access to a
database of industrial and commercial companies worldwide. It
can be searched by company name, product/service, trade name,
executive name or a combination of criteria using the advanced
search facility.
Marketline Business Information Centre (County
Central Library only) - browse major industry, company and country
profiles and news.
Free websites
Companies House - The main body registering
British companies. Enter a company name in Webcheck and get details
of its registered address, number, date of incorporation, date of
last filed accounts etc.
Business Link Kent - Provides independent
business advice to local businesses and those thinking of starting
one.
