Reservations

Items which are not on the shelf at your local library may be reserved for

  • 25p per title/item when they are held in any other Kent Library (FREE to under-18s in full-time education)
  • £2.00 if they are provided from outside Kent Libraries.

Customers with visual impairments or other disabilities which prevent them using the book lending service are exempt from reservation charges.

Items will not be posted. They will be available for collection in person from a Kent library. Items not collected within 7 days will be returned to circulation.

If you wish to reserve an item, you will be charged the appropriate fee when you place the reservation or if reserving by post, e-mail or via the online catalogue, you will be charged on your next visit to the library. Please supply the following details:

  1. Your name and address/e-mail address*
  2. Your Kent library membership number (This is the D0... number above the barcode on your library ticket)
  3. The name of the Kent library you wish to collect it from*
  4. Details of the item you wish to reserve*- please provide as much information as possible:
  • Author (or composer/performer if requesting music)
  • Title
  • Date/year published
  • Publisher
  • Where you saw it mentioned or reviewed (please give source and date of review if possible).
  • ISBN (International Standard Book Number)

* = must be supplied

Items may be reserved in person at the counter or via an OPAC (On-line Public Access Catalogue) in a Kent library, by letter, e-mail or using the online catalogue. Your local Kent library's e-mail address can be found via our location pages.
