Overdue charges

Returning borrowed items on time helps to make the best use of the service for everybody's benefit. All items are stamped with the date when they are due for return.

To avoid paying overdue charges you only need to return or renew items before they become overdue. Many of our libraries have external 'book bins' for you to use when the library is closed.

Please note:

• children's items taken out on an adult ticket are liable for adult charges.
• customers with visual impairments or other disabilities which prevent them using the book lending service are exempt from overdue charges.
• if you borrow items from a Mobile Library, you will be charged for hire and late return of videos, but there is no overdue charges on books.
• you will be required to pay for the cost of postage on any overdue reminder sent to you.
