How do I become a library user?

Anyone who lives, studies or works in Kent can join. Just visit your nearest library, the process is free and easy.

An instant ticket requires no paperwork and allows you to borrow three items straightaway. You can also register online.

Once proof of address has been provided, adults may generally borrow up to 12 and children up to eight items, though additional items can be borrowed if required.

Upon registering you will be issued with a reader's ticket (one per person) and PIN number. This allows you to borrow and return items from and to all of our computerised libraries. In addition it enables you to view your details online, renew or reserve items, book and use library computers and access our range of online resources remotely.

Please note: For licensing reasons, you will need to confirm your online registration in a library before accessing online resources.
