Spend a day immersed in the tranquil countryside and
fascinating heritage of Cuxton on this delightful walk.
The main route leads walkers through time taking in ancient
woodland, historic settlements and the Medway Bridge - the longest
of its type in the world when it was first built in 1963.
The landscape and views found along the walk are awesome. Much
of the ancient woodland sitting around Cuxton are protected and are
home to some of Britain's rarest wild flowers.
Walkers can extend their enjoyment by taking the 'Darnley
Diversion'.
This extra section of the route offers the chance to see the
Darnley Mausoleum built in 1783, which has a colourful history of
its own.
More information about the walk and a map and guide are
available in the
Lost Landscapes Heritage Trails - Cuxton leaflet.
