Walking

Stride across windswept clifftops, stroll through historic villages or escape into peaceful woodland.

Explore Kent has an excellent range of short walks and nationally acclaimed long distance routes to match every mood and season.

Browse through our great selection of walks or plan your own walk with our interactive map.

Walking along Kent's 4,200 miles (6,759 km) of paths is the perfect way to discover the many diverse landscapes to be enjoyed in the county - their history, their wildlife and their local communities.

And having fun in the countryside or exploring our tremendous coastline is recognised as an excellent way to help people of all ages stay healthy.

Seasoned walkers will delight in taking on the challenges of completing Kent's longer walking routes such as The Greensand Way, The Saxon Shore Way and The North Downs Way.

For those with only a few hours to spare, Explore Kent has selected some of the best circular walks along the long distance routes to enjoy with family and friends. These walks showcase the most spectacular landscapes and views of the long distance trails.

Explore Kent also has a growing number of easy access walks with paths suitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs and motor scooters.

If there are simply too many walks to choose from then try our walk of the month. It has been specially selected to showcase the best that the Kent countryside has to offer at this time of the year.

Whether you want to enjoy Kent's wildlife or discover one of Kent's many historic castles and churches - Explore Kent will help you on your way.
