With its rich history and beautiful
countryside, Lullingstone is a great place to relax and
explore.
Lullingstone Country Park is home to some of the oldest Oak and
Beech trees in England. Including 300 acres of the Darenth Valley
their are some wonderful views, including spectacular fields of
wild flowers.
The park also hosts a number of events throughout the year,
ranging from 'butterfly afternoons' to 'funghi walks'.
There are some fantastic walks in the area with the
Darenth Valley Path and the
North Downs Way closeby. There is also a beautiful
circular walk around Otford Village, offering inspirational
views across the surrounding countryside.
For those that want to explore the fascinating history of the area
there is the fantastic Eynsford and Lullingstone Villa Heritage
Trail.
This 3.5 mile (5.6km) family route takes walkers on a journey
through Eynsford Castle, Lullingstone Roman Villa and the World
Garden at Lullingstone Castle. Read more about the walk and

Lullingstone Castle (opens in new window) is
one of the oldest family estates in England and is well worth a
visit. Open to the public, you can explore the historic building on
your own or take part in one of the guided tours.
The
Roman villa (opens in new window) at
Lullingstone was built in AD75 and includes some of the earliest
evidence of Christianity in Britain. There are a number of
treasures at the site including the mosaic floor.
The surrounding, picturesque villages of Otford, Eynsford and
Shoreham provide the perfect place to stop for
lunch.
