Research service

Signature of Oliver Cromwell on a soldier's certificate of discharge, 1652 [Q/SB4/78]The Kent Archives service provides a paid research service at all of its centres for people who are unable to visit and do their own research. A member of our experienced team will carry out research to individual requirements and provide a report of the findings outlining the sources examined.

This is a very popular service and research may take several weeks to be completed - in some cases it may not be possible to carry out research due to the pressure on the service.

The charge for this service is £28 per hour with a minimum charge of £7.

If you are interested in ordering some research from any of our Archive Centres, please contact the individual centre by phone, mail or email. If you are unsure which Archive Centre would be most suitable, contact the Centre for Kentish Studies who will forward your request appropriately.

Canterbury Cathedral Archives - Please note that the research service is currently in abeyance owing to staffing shortages in this area of our work.

Please note: Due to recurrent problems with our online booking and research request system, that facility is temporarily unavailable. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
