Are all the collections at the Archive Centres accessible?

Most of the materials are immediately accessible when you visit. However we do have some resources stored offsite or as yet uncatalogued and these will obviously be harder to make available immediately. We will still try our best to make those available but we may need a bit of notice to arrange this.

Some material in our collections is owned by private organisations or individuals and occasionally they may have requested that their collection, or part of it, is not made available without their permission. The collections in the archives also fall under Data Protection legislation, so if material in them is less than 100 years old (and could therefore contain sensitive data about someone alive) we may have to restrict access. It is always best to ring the relevant centre in advance to check that the material you want to look at is available.
