Canterbury Cathedral Archives is located within the precincts of
Canterbury Cathedral. Please check our
opening hours prior to any visit. We also advise visitors to
book a seat in advance to avoid disappointment. You can do so
either by telephone, letter or email.
If you are interested in ordering some research from the Centre
for Kentish Studies, check our
research service page.
Please note: Due to
recurrent problems with our online booking and research request
system, that facility is temporarily unavailable. If you have made
an online booking within the last month and have not received a
personalised reply (excluding the automated acknowledgement) please
contact us again. We apologise for any inconvenience
caused.
The Centre holds the records of the cathedral (including its
estates), Canterbury diocese, parishes in the Canterbury
archdeaconry, Canterbury City Council, and other organisations,
businesses and individuals in the Canterbury area. Researchers in
the Archives also have access to the books of Canterbury Cathedral
Library.
Canterbury Cathedral Archives is run in partnership by the Dean
and Chapter, Kent County Council and Canterbury City Council.
