Tucked away behind Pembury village, and adjacent to Lower Green Recreation Ground, Marshley Harbour Wood is made up of 213 acres of mature pines, coppices sweet chestnut and open glades.
A variety of footpaths run through the site, offering great views of the woodland landscape. There’s also an educational nature trail leading through the woods, which are always popular with walkers.
The paths through the woods are generally in good condition, though can be steep at times and are unsurfaced.
Despite being bisected by the Pembury Northern Bypass, the woods retain much of their original character, and the total area is large enough, and the foliage dense enough, to make the area a peaceful place to walk through.
A stroll through the woods can also be combined with time spent making use of the excellent modern play equipment and sports facilities to be found at the recreation ground.

Easy access information

This park and open space contains uneven trails, un-surfaced or narrow pathways. Also, there are width restricting features, such as stiles and narrow gaps making it difficult for visitors with pushchairs and/or wheelchairs to access some parts of the site.
