If you're 14 to 19 years old and studying health and
social care at school or college, you can apply for a work
placement with Kent Vocational Training Placements.
We offer a variety of interesting work placements that will give
you work experience in the last two years of your course in the
different areas of social care including:
- housekeeping
- administration
- catering
- hairdressing
- activities, such as bingo, karaoke, helping to serve food and
drinks, horse-riding, cycling, crafts and music
- working with a handyman
- gardening
- talking to people
We will match you with a suitable employer, depending on the
area within care you would like to work. We will then help you draw
up a personal placement plan to help you focus on what you would
like to get out of the placement.
We hope that the placements will provide you with a taster of
what it would be like to have a rewarding and enriching career in
care.
Kent Vocational Training Placements (KVTP) is a three-year
programme offering 170 placements a year, with the ultimate aim of
recruiting at least 30 young people in to social care by the end of
the project. It is run jointly by our Social Services and Education
and directorates.
