Work and Wellbeing

We are committed to helping keep our staff healthy and happy both at work and in their lives outside of work. Work/life balance is highly valued at KCC, and benefits such as flexible working, career breaks and support to get involved in volunteer work all contribute towards this. In addition, we offer these services designed to further promote wellbeing for our staff:

  • Free health checks - staff are invited to take part in health checks in partnership with Health Sure (a specialist provider)
  • Virtual wellbeing coach - a free online service provided by an interactive healthcare specialist to help individuals identify and tackle areas of stress
  • Support for staff who are disabled or suffering from long-term sickness - including support in adjusting the work environment to cater for individual needs
  • Help fund - providing assistance to colleagues at times of financial difficulty due to personal/family circumstances
  • Support line - a free and confidential telephone counselling service to help staff approach work and life problems in a more effective way
  • Stress management strategy - including training for staff and managers and stress risk assessments.
