Employment and training project

If you're finding it difficult to get a job because events in your life haven't gone the way you'd planned, then we might be able to help you.

We offer vocational training, mentoring, advice and guidance, to help you get into the job market or give you the skills to get a better job, through the Evolve Development Partnership.

We have already helped people to gain skills in different areas that have made them more employable through the following projects. You can also read first-hand accounts from people who have benefited from them.

  • Members of Gravesend's black and minority ethnic community are beginning a career in social care with Kent Adult Social Services' Equal Care project.
  • Mental health recoverers who are considering training or employment are receiving one-to-one support, advice, mentoring and guidance thanks to Kent and Medway NHS Health & Social Care Partnership Trust's vocational advisors.
  • The Prince's Trust is encouraging ex-offenders and disengaged young people to take responsibility for managing their own development and exploring possible career options.
  • Lone parents are signing up to the 'Getting on' course to gain skills and qualifications in early years care delivered by Kent Adult Education Services.
  • MCCH is working with Maplesden Noakes School to support inclusion for pupils with physical and learning disabiliites. People on the programme will support school pupils studying for their GCSEs in health and social care. They will also become support volunteers on courses that adults are attending at the school. These will include art, cookery, woodwork and IT courses. MCCH will also add a 'self-employment' aspect to this programme as the school specialises in business enterprise.
