Teenage Pregnancy Pathway
The Teenage Pregnancy Pathway was developed to provide a route
through the services for young women who may be pregnant and for
young men who may be potential fathers. The pathway starts in the
possible pregnancy stage through to the postnatal stage for teenage
parents.
The aims of the pathway are to ensure that all young
parents receive an agreed basic 'offer' of support and advice. This
should ensure that teenage parents are supported in a timely manner
including individual assessment of need and referral to partners
where appropriate. And to alert professionals to the services each
young parent to be should be offered and is based on the support
they may need.
