Written by Lucy Dahl, daughter of literary giant Roald Dahl, Wild Child is set to be the teen chick flick of the summer. Following the antics of 16 year old Poppy played by Emma Roberts (Nancy Drew), Wild Child is a tale of self discovery and growing up.

Brought up in L.A. Poppy has been living a selfish and spoiled existence. Despite having the world at her feet, Poppy continues to push her boundaries until one day she takes a step too far.

Fed up with her outlandish behaviour, her father ships her off to boarding school in England, as a last desperate attempt to mend her ways. Bound by strict rules, curfews, School girl hierarchies and scary teachers; Poppy is faced with the ultimate Wild Child challenge.

Shot on location last summer, Wild Child was mostly filmed at Cobham Hall near Gravesend in Kent. Already a boarding school for girls, the location was perfect for the film, with its traditional English feel and extensive grounds, the production was able to make themselves truly at home.

Cobham Hall is a very popular film location and has played host to many productions including the BBC’s adaptation of Bleak House staring Gillian Anderson among many others.

Wild Child hits our cinema screens on the 15th August 2008.
