Gillian McKeith - the star presenter of Channel 4’s hit programme ‘You are what you eat’ and best selling author - paid a visit to the Archbishop’s Palace in Maidstone recently to celebrate a wedding with a difference.

The straight-talking nutritionist and a Celador Productions film crew were in town on Saturday 28th April to attend and film a wedding ceremony that will soon feature in an episode of Gillian’s new series, Three Fat Brides, One Thin Dress.

In the special series of three, hour-long episodes starting on June 26th Ms McKeith will help three brides in each show to transform their diets and adopt a healthier lifestyle. At the end of each episode, the bride who she deems to have been most successful in their new regime, not just by losing weight, but also by embracing the values of the regime beyond the eight weeks, will win the wedding dress of their dreams.

In between takes, Gillian said, "Kent is a beautiful place to get married in and I’ve enjoyed reading all about its range of venues inside A Kentish Wedding magazine".

"It’s fantastic to be here and celebrate with our contributor, Samantha Joyce and her new husband David Chater on their big day."

Viewers will have to wait and see which bride wins the big prize when the show is broadcast on Tuesday July 3rd at 8pm on Channel 4.
