Miss Marple - The Moving Finger - 2005
Agatha Christie's Miss Marple pays Kent a deadly visit.
ITV
Director: Tom Shankland
Writer: Kevin Elyot
Kent Filming Locations: Chilham
In 2005 Miss Marple (Geraldine McEwan) came to Chilham in Kent.
The beautiful village was chosen to represent the fictitious hamlet of Lymstock, where Jerry Burton (James D'Arcy) comes to recuperate after an accident accompanied by his sister Joanna (Emilia Fox). Beneath the beautiful exterior of Lymstock lies an ugly web of deceit and evil unleashed by a poison pen writer.
After the suicide of one of the poison pen victims, the finger of suspicion is pointed at everyone. Miss Marple and Jerry come to the rescue and begin to hunt for the author of the malicious letters. Their search unveils a ruthless killer.
The episode also stars Kent’s own Kelly Brook as Elsie Holland, Sean Pertwee as Dr Owen Griffith and Harry Enfield as Richard Symmington.
The picturesque village of Chilham is no stranger to filming. Having retained its period charm it has played host to many film and TV productions including Hercule Poirot’s Christmas, Moll Flanders and A Canterbury Tale.
The programme is now available to buy on DVD.
