Danny (David Morrissey, star of Blackpool) and his wife (Lucy Cohu, Becoming Jane), move to Meadowlands with their family as part of a witness protection programme. The picture perfect village is free from drugs, disease and crime, an ideal location for the family to start over.

All is not what it seems in Meadowlands and soon the hidden secrets of the community start to surface. This plunges the family in to a world of mystery, paranoia and conspiracy, prompting us to ask; are we ever able to hide from the secrets of our past?

The production was based at The Maidstone Studios and filmed both on location and at a nearby drama stage where they built their main sets. Leybourne Lakes and the new Kings Hill Development in the borough of Tonbridge and Malling were chosen to represent the idyllic Meadowlands.  With the arrival of the distinctive award winning New England style houses by Berkeley Homes,  the transformation of the lakes as a country park for all the family to enjoy, and the re-development of an old airfield at Kings Hill into a brand new community with housing, shopping centre and the Kings Hill Golf Course the area has undergone a significant transformation in recent years.

The drama used local crew and also provided an opportunity for two of Kent’s recent film graduates to experience life on set as a runner and receive that all important first step on the ladder via entry level training.
