and there are plenty of recreational opportunities to suit

Walking and cycling
Kent is a great place for walking and where better to enjoy a

Bird watching
The Kent coast is home to some of the best sites for bird
watching and many are open to the public. Some popular sites in
Kent include:
- Cliffe Pools, Cliffe
- Nor Marsh, viewed from Riverside Country Park, Gillingham
- Elmley, Isle of Sheppey
- Swale, Isle of Sheppey
- Oare Marsh, near Faversham
- South Swale, near Faversham
- Sandwich and Pegwell Bay, Sandwich
- Dungeness, near Lydd.
National Nature Reserves in Kent
National Nature Reserves are selected by English Nature as
nationally important, because they are among the best examples of a
particular type of habitat, that support a diverse range of
interesting wildlife.
Kent has four coastal National Nature Reserves, situated at
Dungeness, Elmley, Sandwich and Pegwell Bay, and the Swale. All
these special areas are there for you to visit. For more
