Access, vehicles and trailers

The Household Waste Recycling Centres are licensed for domestic waste and recycling only.  It is an offence to take business waste there.

Access

The height barriers are 2 metres (6ft 6ins) at all centres.

The barriers  will be opened on Wednesdays and Saturdays at selected sites to give access to vehicles taller than 2 metres.

Trailers

Trailers up to 8 feet (2.44 metres) long (excluding drawbar and hitch) may use all the centres. Longer trailers may use selected sites.

Other vehicles

Pick-up trucks  and tipping vehicles carrying domestic waste and recycling are permitted at all Household Waste Recycling Centres, but they must be unloaded by hand.

Vehicles weighing more than 3,500 kilograms (or ones carrying business waste) will be refused entry.

For your safety

It is not permitted to park outside the centre and carry waste into the household waste and recycling centres.

Children must remain in your vehicle when visiting the household waste recycling centre.

Image of Recycle for KentWe are unable to allow you to take items or materials which have been deposited at these sites by others.

All waste should be of a size and weight that is manageable so that you can easily lift it into the containers.
