Our policies
Access, vehicles and trailers
The Household Waste Recycling Centres are
licensed for domestic waste and recycling
only. It is an offence to take business waste there.
Access
The height barriers are 2 metres (6ft 6ins)
at all centres.
The barriers will be opened on
Wednesdays and Saturdays at selected
sites to give access to vehicles taller than 2 metres.
Trailers
Trailers up to 8 feet (2.44 metres) long
(excluding drawbar and hitch) may use all the centres. Longer
trailers may use selected sites.
Check the information on this website about
your local site for details.
Other vehicles
Pick-up trucks and tipping vehicles
carrying domestic waste and recycling are permitted at all
Household Waste Recycling Centres, but they must be unloaded by
hand.
Vehicles weighing more than 3,500 kilograms
(or ones carrying business waste) will be refused entry.
For your safety
It is not permitted to park outside the
centre and carry waste into the household waste and recycling
centres.
Children must remain in your vehicle when
visiting the household waste recycling centre.
We are unable to
allow you to take items or materials which have been deposited at
these sites by others.
All waste should be of a size and weight that is
manageable so that you can easily lift it into the
containers.
Ask for assistance
Members of staff are on hand at the centres to help you if you need
it, please just ask.
