Consultation
The future of the Household Waste Recycling Centre service
provided by Kent County Council for use by Kent householders has
been subject to a public consultation. This
consultation closed on 9 February 2012.
What happens next?
Following the public consultation, recommendations were
presented to Cabinet on 19 March 2012 for consideration which took
into account the feedback obtained from the public consultation and
the full Equalities Impact Assessment. Cabinet endorsed all
recommendations and delegated the final decision to the Cabinet
Member for Environment, Highways and Waste. A petition was received
in respect of the proposal to close the Richborough HWRC. This was
debated at the meeting of the County Council on Thursday 29 March
2012. The Cabinet Member made his decision on 3 April 2012.
