A to Z of waste (where to take your waste items)
Your guide on what to do with your household waste
The A-Z guide is designed to give you some options on how to
re-use or recycle your unwanted items. Finding a way to re-use
items is more resourceful than recycling or disposal. Once items
are taken to a recycling centre, there are limited opportunities
for re-use, try using local charity shops and re-use
organisations.
Recycling sites also known as bring banks or recycling banks,
are those in public areas such as supermarkets and other car parks
which the District and Borough Councils are often responsible for.
Contact your local
council for details of your nearest recycling site.
District and borough councils are referred to as 'local
councils' in this A-Z.
Household waste recycling centres are operated by us and are
often also referred to as civic amenity sites or the local 'tip' or
'dump'. There are 19 household waste recycling centres across Kent.
