Our targets for reducing waste and increasing recycling

Recycling targets

20010/11 = 42 per cent

Waste reduction targets:

The targets are set by the Government.

Our progress

Household waste: Kent recycled nearly 40 per cent of household waste in 2009/2010. (This figure is a combined total of the amount of recycling and composting collected at the kerbside and in recycling banks and the waste separated and recycled at Kent’s Household Waste Recycling Centres.)

Some districts in Kent recycle more than others. For example; Canterbury, Tonbridge and Malling and Tunbridge Wells recycle more than 45 per cent of their waste.
