Our progress
Household waste: Kent
recycled nearly 40 per cent of household waste in 2009/2010. (This
figure is a combined total of the amount of recycling and
composting collected at the kerbside and in recycling banks and the
waste separated and recycled at Kent’s Household Waste Recycling Centres.)
Some districts in Kent recycle more than
others. For example; Canterbury, Tonbridge and Malling and
Tunbridge Wells recycle more than 45 per cent of their waste.

Recycling centres: The
average recycling rate at Kent’s Household Waste Recycling Centres
is 68.9 per cent (including soil and rubble) and has increased
steadily.
