The Kent Waste Partnership
The Kent Waste Partnership is made up of the district and borough
councils that collect domestic waste in Kent, and Kent County
Council, which disposes of it.
The partnership replaced the Kent Waste Forum.
The Joint Management Committee
The cabinet members responsible for waste management in each
council sit on the Kent Waste Partnership's Joint Waste Management
Committee and usually meet three times a year. They agree the
Kent Waste Strategy, a sustainable strategy for the management of
household waste in Kent over 20 years.
See the Kent Waste
Strategy.
The Officer Advisory Group
The Joint Management Committee is advised by
the Kent Waste Partnership's Officer Advisory Group, whose
members come from the waste management teams of every council in
the partnership. They meet four times a year to discuss the
management of the waste service in Kent and to agree how to achieve
the targets set out in the annual strategy action plans.

Kent Waste Forum
The issue of managing household waste
extends well beyond the 13 Kent councils. As such, there is a Kent
Waste Forum where issues are discussed among a wider audience
including retailers, reprocessors, 'civil society' organisations
(i.e. the community sector), and a host of other interested
parties. There is an annual event where issues are
discussed. The most recent was on 8th July 2010. The
event programme, and the speakers' presentations, are here for you
